(Gibsonia, July 13)-If you’re looking for an excellent summer project for you and your family, look no further than the vibrant social media realm. TV designer, Kathy Peterson , is using her exclusive new line of patio furniture, Kathy Peterson Inspired-Outdoor Lifestyles to excite creative mastery in crafters everywhere.
“When I was creating my line of patio furniture, I wanted to offer as many color options as possible,” said designer, Peterson. “But, I also wanted to invite the creative in all of us to participate in the fun, so I crafted each piece from Cypress to allow for easy painting.” Cypress, a resilient hard word with natural oil embedded in the heartwood, makes it naturally resistant to insects and decay. When kiln dried, cypress has little tendency to warp or cup. But, beyond its durability, it readily accepts all sorts of paints and stains. “I wanted to find a way to inspire people to put their own personal touch on their outdoor living spaces,” Peterson commented. To reach this goal, Kathy Peterson hand selected five diverse designers with talents in all areas of creativity. Each designer will be putting her own unique decorating touch on an unfinished Adirondack chair from Kathy’s line. Highlighting a designer project every Tuesday from July 20 to August 17, each blogger will be posting photos, directions, inspirations, and materials for her distinctive spin. Everyone involved is anxious to see the completed projects. “I’ve heard buzzing about glitter and zebra print, so I’m definitely on board!” said one avid reader. These versatile designers include Margot Potter, The Impatient Crafter TV personality cracking up readers and inspiring creativity in six humorous how-to design books; Kathy Cano-Murillo, author of the crafting book “Waking Up in the Land of Glitter” ; Julianna Hudgins, an HGTV and DIY network regular; Julie Fillo, an off beat painter whose work reflects folk tendencies and soul-searching inspiration, and Pat Sloan, a highly sought quilt designer and master quilter. “I love that each designer is so different,” said blog hop coordinator Hazel Jennings. “I can’t wait to see five completely different Adirondack chair. But more than that, I can’t wait to see the flood of projects inspired by them!” Hide

(Gibsonia, PA, April 21, 2010) – CedarStore.com, manufacturer and online retailer, headquartered in Pittsburgh, Penna., announces its exclusive collaboration with Derek Fell, nationally recognized garden design expert to manufacture and market his original line
of outdoor furniture and garden structures. Fell, a prolific and award winning writer and photographer with art, travel and garden books totaling more than 2.5 million in print, selected CedarStore.com to release the initial pieces within the line beginning early summer of 2010. "We are proud to be the exclusive source for Derek Fell's furniture and structures," said Tim McTighe, founder and owner of CedarStore.com. "As a quality manufacturer with the benefit of an international marketing arm through Cedarstore.com, Derek's creations will receive the highest level of comprehensive attention from craftsmanship to customer service." The exclusive partnership with CedarStore.com also is seen by the designer as an advantageous collaboration. "I greatly value the opportunity to work with the CedarStore on a special series of garden structures," said Derek Fell, designer. "The CedarStore is pre-eminent in the field of garden structures, including custom designs." For over 45 years, Derek Fell has specialized in documenting gardens worldwide and writing about garden design as well as garden furniture and garden structures. Favorites of landscape professionals and certified landscape architects and garden designers are such Fell titles as The Impressionist Garden , The Encyclopedia of Garden Design and Structures, and The Gardens of Frank Lloyd Wright. In Fell's most successful series, he focused on great French Impressionist painters and their restored gardens. More than 50 of his garden features have been published in Architectural Digest magazine. From these travels, examples of garden furniture and structures were documented and provided the inspiration for designs within this signature launch. Pieces from the initial offering being crafted and offered by CedarStore include Monet's Bridge with Wisteria Canopy, ; Cezanne's Trail Bridge, a rustic design perfect for any outdoor setting; and Van Gogh's Zig Zag Bridge , a Japanese slab bridge designed after those used to keep evil spirits out of a garden sanctuary. Other designs include a 3 Compartment Compost Bin and Red Cedar Arbor inspired by Renoir. All designs provide not only beauty to an outdoor space, but an intriguing story into the lifestyles of famed European artists. "I always think that when you add a structure to a garden, it must serve two purposes - a decorative accent that's a pleasure to look at, and functional," said Fell in CedarStore's AllOutdoorPatioFurniture Blog. "When you can add a third element, a talking point, I don't think one could ask for more of a bridge, bench or gate." Additional information with regard to the complete line of outdoor furniture and garden structures as well as the designer is available at CedarStore.com. Hide
