Can I request a catalog of your products?
We are a dynamic site that changes quite often, every two weeks we add new products and improve designs to existing products, and therefore our printed catalogs become obsolete before the ink is dry.
As a result, we have temporarily suspended mailing out catalogs. In place of our printed catalog, we have redesigned our site so you’ll find it easier to navigate. We’ve also added much more updated information (prices and specs on all products) in a user friendly way so that each page can be printed to make your own custom catalog. Please see the simple printing instructions below.

What size bench, outdoor garden porch swing or glider should I buy?
This is largely a matter of space you have available and how you envision using the item. Obviously, a six-foot outdoor garden porch swing will be a poor fit on a porch that is only seven feet wide. By the same token, a four-foot bench will be rather cramped if you intend it to be used by three people. Our cozy 4' outdoor garden porch swing will comfortably seat two average size adults. The 5' outdoor garden porch swing is our most common size porch swing. It easily fits on most porches and will comfortably seat three adults sitting or one adult napping. The 6' outdoor garden porch swing is a large outdoor garden porch swing that will accommodate four to five adults and is spacious enough to become a favorite place for a long afternoon nap. Although we are referring to adults when approximating outdoor garden porch swing capacity, we assure you that these outdoor garden porch swings will immediately become a choice place for children to unwind. Spending a little time up front measuring your space and considering the item's use can save inconvenience and disappointment later.

Why should I consider an A-frame swing?
Some of our most popular items, swings can be placed almost anywhere you have a level surface. They are ideal for use on a deck, patio, lawn, pool side, cottage, or garden location. The strong, solidly built A-frame provides tip-free support for your swing and can be easily repositioned when you wish to change its location or orientation. Made of the same durable and beautiful lumber as the swings, the Swing Stand unit is both handsome and practical.

4.
How should I hang my outdoor porch swing?
First of all, if you intend to hang it from a ceiling, make certain the joists will support the weight of the outdoor porch swing and its occupants. Also, leave a minimum of 2'6" behind the swing for a comfortable swinging motion - 3+ feet is better - and position (hang) the swing chains an inch or two outside the swing length. (i.e. when hanging a 5' swing, position the ceiling chain hooks, or swing chains if hanging on a tree, about 5'2" to 5'4" apart.) If you are using our comfort springs, they hang at the top between the hanging hooks and the swing chains (either side up). If you are uncertain about this, we suggest you consult an experienced carpenter to check it out and install it.
If you want to hang it from a tree limb, make sure that the limb is sturdy enough to support the weight. Then, protect the limb from abrasion by padding the hanging chain with rubber hose and fasten the chain around the limb with a heavy, rust-resistant bolt. Never use hooks to attach the chain directly to a tree limb.If neither of these options look satisfactory, we suggest you consider our free standing A-frame swing package.

What about mixing styles?
No problem, as long as they look right to you and satisfy the users. The American Classic is generally a preferred chair for a petite woman. Some women prefer the Royal Highback for its grace and style, but it is sure to bring a smile to the face of every man over 6' tall. Another consideration, however, is the savings to be realized in selecting one of our group offerings.

How about finishing my wooden outdoor & patio collections?
Left unfinished, they will weather (outdoors) to a fine gray patina within a couple of years. You can enjoy the natural graying or protect them with a quality sealer when they reach the stage of weathering you prefer.
If you choose to seal your purchase, we strongly recommend using an immediate application of stain/sealer for maximum protection from the elements. We do not recommend a clear sealer, as it easily wears off when exposed to the sun, but rather a Cedar Tone for a slight color change or a Cedar Tone for a darker color change to accent the finish.

Here are several tips for finishing your purchase:
Stir the finish to ensure uniformity.
Apply using a brush, sponge, or spray -- back brush after application to ensure good penetration and even coverage.
A minimum of two coats is recommended.
If painting, start with a primer and finish with your preferred paint and color -- painting is easier prior to assembly.

Is assembly difficult?
Generally speaking, all of our furniture products are very simple to assemble. Swings, gliders, benches & accessories are shipped with the back and seat completely assembled. With just common household tools, the assembly time is approximately 20 minutes. All necessary hardware and assembly instructions are included with each shipment. For more specific assembly instructions, please visit the product description page for the item you are interested in.

Will you hold an order to be shipped at a later date?
Yes. If you place an order now - or anytime one of our specials catches your eye - and you want us to delay shipping, we will be happy to oblige. Just let us know when you want it to arrive - Christmas, a birthday, a holiday - we will even hold it until next spring. Just type your request in the Special Delivery Instructions, Questions, or Comments space when you are ordering.

Is furniture shipped finished or unfinished?

What do I do if a shipment is damaged?
Most shipments will be shipped via FedEx or UPS, but larger items may require shipment by Motor Freight. In the case of a FedEx or UPS shipment, if there’s visible damage at the point of delivery, please accept the shipment. With a Motor Freight shipment, accept the shipment and please write “damaged” on the delivery receipt. We will expedite any new pieces or products requiring replacement at no additional charge.
