There are (4) 1 x 3 wooden stakes used as anchors included with this arbor. It is not necessary to cement each post in the ground if you use the wooden stakes. Installing the wooden stakes is easy. Place each wooden stake flat up against each post. With a hammer, spike down each post in the ground leaving approximately 6” above the ground. Finally, screw (2) screws in each wooden stake to secure each post. (If you attach to cement surface, we recommend “L” brackets using lag bolts, which can be purchased at your local hardware store.)
