Drawings

A project is only as great as the plan that precedes it, which is why we provide professional design drawings. Our CAD Department is skilled and experienced in dealing with numerous customizations to suit every idea. This wide range of situations naturally requires tailored planning; some must consider frostline depth, snow loads, or hurricane resistance for example.

Many states, municipalities, and Home Owners Associations have unique rules and regulations that must be followed, often for safety reasons that benefit everyone involved. Our engineered drawings can be stamped for your state and will prove the quality of the project, no matter how unique. Stamped drawings are often essential when acquiring local permits for your structure.

All customers and clients are responsible for obtaining permits.

Footprint Drawings: Basic

Our Footprint (a.k.a. Site Prep) Drawings are generally needed for new construction, or when installing on concrete patios, or wooden decks. The drawings will distinguish where the posts or floor supports of the structure will be located for footer or base planning. These drawings can be used with a custom designed structure although we do recommend our Spec Drawings which would need to be discussed with a project advisor.

For any customizations, drawings must be approved by the customer and confirmed by a project advisor before moving into production.

Please allow 3-5 business days for these drawings and note that these lead times may vary depending on the season.

Spec Drawings: Intermediate

Spec Drawings are generally needed for obtaining permits, for product customizations, and when more detailed information about the structure is needed such as height, clearances, and roof pitch. For any structure that is going to be placed close to or attached to a building, Spec Drawings must be ordered and approved by the customer before we can begin fabrication of the structure.

If the Spec Drawings are for permitting purposes, we need confirmation of the approved permit (not just the customer's approval) to begin production.

Spec Drawings will always be confirmed by your project advisor.

Please note that the lead times on Spec Drawings are 7-10 business days and this may vary depending on the season.

Engineered Drawings: Advanced

Engineered Drawings are generally needed if a building department requests them or if required by local code. They are certified and stamped by a structural engineer that is state licensed. These drawings are commonly required if the structure is open to the general public or if there are any other commercial applications. They may also be required for high wind or high snow locations. The engineering for the structure can be provided but may require additional charges.

For code compliance or very detailed custom structures, it may be necessary to order engineered drawings prior to placing the order or receiving a final quote.

Please note that we reserve the right to update pricing accordingly based on the engineering of a custom designed structure including the member size, material and hardware for the structure.

The lead times for Engineered Drawings may vary depending on the season and the complexity of the project.
