Pergola Site Preparation

A pergola is a truly versatile structure. It can be attached to a new or existing patio or deck. The posts need to be set on a footer or directly on a concrete pad, and our special stainless steel brackets will anchor your pergola to the concrete pad or deck.

It’s very important that your pergola sits on a level surface. So, if you’re building a new patio, make sure the locations for the posts are level. If your existing surface is not level, you may need to cut down the posts of the pergola.

Remember, the size of your pergola is measured to the outside corners of the posts. The overhanging beams and runners may extend 16-18" beyond that. This is important to keep in mind and to consider any surrounding fences or walls.
