Hurricane Package

By adding the hurricane package to your structure, our structures are reinforced with braces, brackets, hurricane tie-downs and anchoring methods. The type and number of additional hardware components vary by the size and type of the structure. This package ensures that your structure is capable of withstanding excessive wind loads. Engineered drawings, stamped by a licensed engineer for your state, are available if needed for an additional charge.

Some of our customers order the Hurricane Package even if their local wind load code is 90mph or less, mainly to protect their structure in case the region experiences stronger winds than local codes predict.

This package will automatically increase snow loads also, so even if hurricanes are not a threat in your area, the Hurricane Package is still the best way to ensure that you are getting the strongest structure possible. Depending on your situation, engineered drawings may be needed for your project (additional charges apply).

Due to structural requirements, some options such as turned or decorative posts cannot be used with the Hurricane Package. This would, again, depend on your specific project.

The hurricane package can be added to your structure in the Design Wizard, under Additional Options. Structures may still be compatible with the Hurricane Package even if it is not listed in the Design Wizard options list, please call us to speak with one of our Project Advisors about your project.
